Handicap International Project has been implement in in Koraput, Rayagada and Khurda districts of Odisha since April, 2016.

Objective of the Project: To protecting and promoting the rights of people with disabilities is a global human rights issue and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD) is a fundamental instrument in this regard. The project is being implemented in Koraput, Rayagda and Khordha districts of Odisha.

Expected Results and Related Activities:

Result l: DPOs have improved their capacities on (i) problem analysis (including, Barrier assessment), (ii) advocacy and (iii) organizational management

Result 2: DPOs are empowered to collect good practices on the problems identified on accessing rights for persons with disabilities . Set up the Making it work (MlW) working groups in each district (3 districts) and at State level for collection of good practices based on the identified problems

Result 3: Each DPO is engaged in removal of barriers in their operational district and Strengthening of the existing service provision system for equality and equity, in Collaboration with other social change actors
