Convention on Ending Violence against Children has been held from 15th to 17th December, 2016 at Institute of Engineers, Bhubaneswar by Odisha Alliance for Child Rights (OACR) and Nation Action and Coordination Group to End Violence against Children (NACG-EVAC), Odisha in partnership with Odisha State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (OSCPC).  The objective of the convention was to discuss and prepare rut map against various child related issues i.e. Violence Against Children, Child labour, Child trafficking, migration, missing children, Child Marriage, Child sexual abuse, Children’s safety in Education and Child Care Institutions, Children in Emergency and Children with Disability.

Smt. Kasturi Mahapatra (Chairperon, OSCPCR), Mr. Vishal Kumar Dev, IAS, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, W & CD Dept. Govt. of Odisha, Mr. A.B. Ota, IAS, Director, SCSTRTI and RDC, Central Zone, Ms. Yumi Bae, Chief, UNICEF, Odisha, Dr. Chiranjeev Kakotty, Chairman, NACG-EVAC, India were presented as a Guests during the Convention.

In the second day of the Convention, a book let on case studies of prevention initiative of Child Marriage at Koraput has been inaugurated by the Guests. These case studies have reflected how the AESS volunteers, community leaders and Child marriage victims have taken initiative towards prevent 15 Child Marriages cases in the AESS project areas of Koraput District. Two girls child were shared their experiences the process to stop child marriage with the corporation of AESS volunteer and community leaders.
