The Gram Swaraj Samukhya (GSS) program is just governacee through Gram Swaraj in Rural Odisha on a campaign mode. The program supports to Gram Panchayats and villages to ensure that they are capable to providing improved quality services for the people through effective, transparent and accountable governance. It works to strengthen the functioning of Panchayat Raj Institution system for in order to effectively mobilise resources. GSS also empowers governance institutions such as Palli Sabha and Gram Sabha to promote effective decision-making process as well as increased participation by community members in the implementation of governments schemes.

Ekta has implemented this project in Mujango and Gadiaguda GPs of Dasmantpur block under Koraput district. It covers 50 villages (26 Mujango and 14 Gadiaguda)

What we have achieved:

  • 35 Gram Swaraj Committee have formed in the project area.
  • 22 village information centres have formed and it being used as a resource centre in the village level.
  • 37 People entitled individual forest land patta by the initiatives of GS committee
