TITLE:  Program Development Manager
TEAM/PROGRAMME: Strengthened the capacity of Local Strategic Partner towards localized actions. LOCATION: Koraput, Odisha, India

 

GRADE: CONTRACT LENGTH: 3 months (intitially for 3 months but it will be continue for next 3 year subject to performance)

ROLE PURPOSE:

The Program Development Manager (PDM) is a middle-level position within the Head office of EKTA based n Koraput, Odisha, the PDM will identify and track donor opportunities, facilitate donor engagement, assist in the development of fundraising strategies, lead the new business and proposal decision, design and development process for all funding opportunities. The position will also ensure the management of overall Operations Team and the Project Management Implemented by EKTA in the field and support in overall organisations development. The position requires innovative thinking and creativity to package our programme strategies in ways that attract the right donor support and grow out portfolio effectively.  She /He will write sections of proposals, while coordinating the input of technical colleagues of EKTA and Consortium or Partner organisations, Operations and field office implementation staff, Supply Chain, Finance, HR and Security into proposals and budgets.

 

SCOPE OF ROLE:
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

General management

·         Reporting to the Director, develop and submit a comprehensive Business Development Strategy and Process, in line with the organisation’s Strategy, for final validation from board.

·         Oversee the implementation and follow-up of Business Development Strategy and Process, reporting monthly to the Director.

·         Manage the advocacy and communications & Visiblity portfolio of the organisation

·         Ensure effective implementation the EKTA Programme as per the Quality Framework of the organisation/Donor

·         As a member EKTA, demonstrate behaviours that are consistent with Organisation’s Mission, Vision and Values and ensure their broader application by staff across the programme.

·         Contribute to a conducive and productive work environment typified by team work and collaboration;

·         Contribute to the wider country programme agenda.

·         Carry out the responsibilities of the role in a way that reflects EKTA’s commitment to safeguarding in accordance with our Code of Conduct and Safeguarding Policy.

·         Contribute to the organisation in development of strategies and plans and ensure it’s application under the programme

·         Ensure excellent coordination and cooperation with EKTA’s employees, Donor’s and other visiting members. Act as focal for donors visit

·         Ensure timnely and quality reports to the Donors

·         Contribute to providing technical assistance on proposal development and new business development.

QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE & Key Competencies

·         A qualified and skilled person with a relevant masters’ degree

·         Having past track record of Organisation Development and producing winning bids, proposals, and reports for institutional donors, corporations and others

·         Recommended 5-7 years’ experience in both an emergency and/or development contexts, preferably with solid experience.

·         Excellent coordination, organisational and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and negotiate clearly and effectively at all levels, and pull together input from a diverse team.

·         Excellent writing/editing, reporting, budget development and presentation/communication skills.

·         Leadership and Team Management: Skilled in fostering a collaborative work environment and empowering team members.

·         Strategic Thinking and Planning, Creativity and Innovation

·         Financial Management and Budgeting

·         Relationship Building and Stakeholder Engagement

·         Experience in presenting project information to donors and partners.

·         Experience in coordinating development of large-scale or strategic proposals, including the development of multi-million dollar project budgets.

·         Cultural awareness mastering and ability to work in an international environment with people from many diverse backgrounds and cultures.

·         Strong results orientation, with the ability to challenge existing mindsets.

·         Experience in solving complex issues through analysis, definition of a clear way forward.

·         Ability and willingness to change work practices and hours, and work with incoming surge teams, in the event of emergencies.

·         Fluency in English and Hindi, Odia language would be preferred. English written, required.
